About Nanook

FuBorn in 1994 in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, Nanook Cools is a fashion designer known for her bold illustrative prints, clashing colors, and concept-driven designs.
Nanook’s work blends rebellious energy with humor and deeper social messages, often told through almost cartoonish visuals. Her unique aesthetic took shape through her internship with renowned designer Tom Van der Borght, whom she assited at the Hyères International Fashion Festival. In 2022, she won the LolaLiza Fashion School competition, with her design featured in stores across Belgium.
A finalist in the 2024 Bilbao International Art and Fashion Contest, her collection « MY SWEET REVOLUTION » explored life with type 1 diabetes—a condition she’s lived with since age 13—through comic-strip storytelling and garments made partly from medical waste. The collection examined identity, vulnerability, and resilience.
After graduating from the Academy of Sint-Niklaas in 2024, Nanook officially launched her own brand: Nanook.
The label features exclusive capsule collections of premium knitwear, bold prints, and statement accessories, produced locally or in-house. Nanook’s creations are not just fashion items—they’re visual stories meant to be worn by expressive individuals who dare to stand out.
